Dozens of Southern California cities are expected to see “No Kings” protests on Saturday, March 28.

The protests — planned across California and the United States — are against the Trump administration.

“Americans are fed up with the constant chaos of the Trump administration, and they’re ready to stand in solidarity against its overreach and attacks on the American people and immigrants,” according to the No Kings Coalition.

What do the ‘No Kings’ protests mean?

In June 2025, scores of Californians took part in “No Kings Day” protests planned the same day as the U.S. Army’s 250^th anniversary celebration — a pricey parade that also fell on President Donald Trump‘s birthday. Another wave of nationwide “No Kings” protests came several months later in October.

“The president thinks his rule is absolute,” according to the No Kings’ website. “But in America, we don’t have kings — and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty. Our peaceful movement is only getting bigger. ‘No Kings’ is more than just a slogan; it is the foundation our nation was built upon.”

No Kings said a core principle behind all events under its banner is “a commitment to nonviolent action.”

“On March 28, we will come together to show that our communities reject corruption, senseless war, and division,” said MoveOn Civic Action Executive Director Katie Bethell in a statement. “Instead we welcome immigrants, believe in the rule of law, and stand up for an economy that works for everyone.”

MoveOn is among the numerous organizations whose leaders are giving their support to the mass protests planned for March 28. American Civil Liberties Union, Service Workers International Union, the Human Rights Campaign are among the others.

“More of us than ever before will rise up, because America does not belong to strongmen or those who rule through fear,” Bethell said. “It belongs to us, the people.”

Here’s where “No Kings” protests are planned in the city of Los Angeles. This is according to an online map of events listed by organizers, which may not be comprehensive of all protests happening within the city.
